Nigerian-Canadian artist Francesca Wexler has shared a fresh new single called “Princess Diana”. Following up her previous single, the electrifying “Cherry Fields Forever”, this track takes on a more somber, subdued mood with slower, smooth production. A mysterious, dark offering centred around a pensive, slightly psychedelic instrumental and eerily calm vocals from Wexler, this is an offering that is both layered and highly re-playable. Featuring an airy, warm beat that pairs nicely with the rappers effortlessly catchy vocals, “Slide” is a track that sticks in one’s head long after listening. As the group continues the momentum they’ve deservedly built from 11 Patterns, we can’t help but be excited for whatever else may come next from them.

These artists have been making widespread waves in the hyperpop scene for the last year- and for good reason. The strongly consistent output each of these artists has, in their own right, should be enough to get you excited about this track. It opens with a finger-picked acoustic guitar, which is carried through the whole song and delicately leads the listener into an emotional drop with heavily distorted bass and bumping drums. These young artists seem truly plugged into their scene, and if they keep up this pace there will no doubt be big things to come from them.
