Loops & Chops Volume 2 may just be unused loops and chops to Onzi– but for listeners, this album gradually flows into an astounding new sound that you can’t ignore. Onzi managed to perfectly execute instrumental beats but also orchestrated stories and characters into his loops that were full of suspense and drama. The unique fusion of rhythm and narrative makes this album not just a collection of beats- but a sonic journey that keeps listeners on the edge of their seats. It’s a testament to Onzi’s creativity and innovation in the world of instrumental music. The attention to detail in the production is also commendable. The sound quality is excellent, with every beat, sample, and loop clearly audible. This, combined with Onzi’s creative use of different sounds and effects, adds depth and richness to the music.

Our favorite tracks are ‘summer child – frozen world’, ‘A.P.’, ‘iFeel’, and ‘fragrance’. Each track manages to stand on its own while still contributing to the overall narrative of the album. A true creative feat, this album deserves much more recognition for its innovative approach to instrumental music. From the pulsating beats of ‘summer child – frozen world’ to the soothing melodies of ‘iFeel’, every track offers a unique auditory experience. The way Onzi weaves a story through music- creating a sense of suspense and drama, is truly captivating. The listener is taken on a journey, with each track flowing smoothly into the next. ‘Everything’s Beautiful’, is a heartfelt, meaningful and gorgeous overall- which is a great way for Hiatus Kaiyote to bring in their first single in over two years. The Melbourne-based band, signed to Flying Lotus’ label Brainfeeder Records, makes rhythm and blues with notes of jazz, soul and acoustic instruments. Hiatus Kaiyote’s last album, titled Mood Valiant was an exceptionally riveting album full of emotional depth and intricate melodies. Each song presented a unique blend of genres, showcasing the band’s versatility and creativity. Standout songs from this album were ‘Red Room’, ‘Sparkle Tape Break Up’, and single ‘Chivalry Is Not Dead’.

‘Everything’s Beautiful’ continues this trend, serving as a testament to Hiatus Kaiyote’s continued growth and artistic evolution.
