Buppy.’s latest offering paints vivid vignettes of his hometown near Park City, Utah- scored by soaring, folk and indie-infused soundscapes and graceful, powerful vocals. Genre-bending sonic landscapes and dynamic songwriting make local favorites an engaging listen through-and-through, while Buppy. demonstrates a knack for emotive, personal narratives. Particularly on EP highlight “rocky mountain roads”, which describes a homesick longing to return to his roots after growing disillusioned with big city life, atop cathartic instrumentation. The somber, elegant beauty of “love is temporary” contains a transcendent quality, with bittersweet guitars merging with Buppy.’s heartfelt lines.
Regarding the EP, Buppy. says, “a lot of who I am can be traced back to the ski town where I was raised. The simplicity, the scenery—it was my own slice of heaven. I took my first steps there, experienced my first love, lost my first love- I learned almost everything I know in that town. Though it continues to grow and change, drifting further from what I remember, I can never grow out of it.”
