Wakai shares engaging new song “Frustrated”

Wakai has shared a new release, titled “Frustrated”. At 22-years-old, Wakai is a DIY aficionado with a preternatural natural talent for creating makeshift studios and recording anywhere he lays his hat. Emerging at the forefront of a bubbling new-wave hip-hop community in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Wakai earns respect from those who inspire him while nurturing a compelling sound of his own. After the release of “Collect Calls” featuring Flozigg and femdot., Wakai is officially announcing his second studio album Some People Scream, Some People Talk with his new release “Frustrated”, via THANKS Recordings. His latest song, “Frustrated” contains silky, summery production from Stoic Beats and smooth yet emotive verses that find him opening up about being stuck at a crossroads in life. “Frustrated” is a relatable, heartfelt track backed up by vivid instrumentation that contains a hypnotic, reflective feel.

“Frustrated” finds Wakai delivering poetic verses atop Stoic Beats’ atmospheric, laid-back soundscape. As buoyant percussion and engaging bass moor the track beneath airy keys, the track develops a mesmerizing groove that immerses the listener in the song’s warmth. Wakai’s cathartic vocals give the song a subtle sense of anger despite its relaxed pace and sound, adding emotional layers to the release.

“”Frustrated” was my depiction of myself at a crossroads not knowing how to channel my anger,” Wakai says. “Through these frustrations, I found serenity in the empowerment of my journey more than my struggle. This song is dedicated to the people who feel how I felt and got through it.”

The release of “Frustrated” comes ahead of Wakai’s forthcoming album Some People Scream, Some People Talk, and it presents a sharply-crafted, vivid offering that has us excited for the release of the full-length project.

I have watched this young man from the age of 10, relentlessly hone in on his craft as an intellectual but no-nonsense poetic rapper. WAKAI puts in the work, day in and day out to make sure he gives his listeners his absolute best. It has been a great joy of my life to witness greatness firsthand. Keep your eye on this one!!!!
