Western Massachusetts artist DK has shared a new album called DK, Who Are You?. The multi-talented musician has made a name for himself both for his engaging solo work as well as production for numerous artists in the WMass scene and beyond. His latest project marks a return to solo work after a four year hiatus, and it presents one of his most concise, focused, and emotive releases yet with a set of songs that are equally catchy and heartfelt. He further demonstrates the diversity seen throughout much of his work with tracks that blur the line between R&B, pop, hip-hop, and more, on DK, Who Are You?.
DK, Who Are You? is a candid album which contains vulnerable songwriting easily relatable to the listener. He tackles heartbreak, grief, and loss with potency- with tracks like “No Trust Some Lies” and “Voicemail” tugging at the heartstrings in a visceral manner and leaving a lasting impression. DK, Who Are You?‘s enticing versatility is displayed on songs like “I Tried to Warn You”, which blends acoustic elements with drill-inspired percussion lines for a dynamic track. While closer “The Mess I Made”, makes for an infectious song that even incorporates fully acoustic elements for a singer-songwriter stylized offering.
